AI disclosure
The writing on these sites reflects my own ideas and opinions. I draft and edit with generative AI assistance — currently Anthropic's Claude models — including source research, and I review everything before it is published. Nothing goes out without that review.
Blog posts carry a notice at the top naming the model that helped. Notes are drafted, edited, and organized with the same tools; clipped third-party articles there are marked as such and remain the work of their original authors.
Code for this site and for my public repositories on GitHub is written with AI coding assistants. It is reviewed and tested before it is merged, and each repository's history records what changed and when.
Copyright
Unless stated otherwise, the content on these sites is © 2026 Rick Waterman. All rights reserved. Short quotations with attribution and a link back are welcome.
Code in my public repositories is licensed under the license file that accompanies each repository. Quoted and clipped third-party material belongs to its original authors and is reproduced for reference with attribution.
Privacy
These are static sites with no accounts and no forms that accept input. This site and the blog set no cookies and load no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. The notes site loadsPlausible, a cookieless analytics script that counts page views in aggregate without storing personal identifiers or tracking you across sites, and serves its web fonts from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when the fonts load.
The sites are hosted on Amazon Web Services in the United States (S3, CloudFront, Route 53, and AWS WAF). To serve pages and block abuse, AWS processes standard request metadata — IP address, user agent, and the URL requested — and applies security rules that block traffic from sanctioned countries, rate-limit individual addresses, and reject known-malicious IPs. I do not enable access logging; AWS may retain sampled request metadata briefly for security monitoring under theAWS Privacy Notice.
Links to other sites lead to services with their own privacy practices. If you contact me directly, I keep the correspondence only as long as needed to respond.

Content is provided for general information, as is, without warranty of any kind. It is not legal, financial, security, or other professional advice. Technical guidance ages quickly; verify it against current documentation before relying on it in production.
I am not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Amazon Web Services, Anthropic, GitHub, or any other vendor mentioned. Product names and trademarks belong to their owners. There is no sponsored, affiliate, or paid content on these sites; if that changes, it will be disclosed where it appears.

Changes
This page will change as the sites and the tools behind them change. The date at the top is the last revision; the site repository holds the full history.
